Q. - Annually, someone from City Hall makes an inspection of rentals in the city. The last time I saw them they told me to call if I had any questions etc. I don't remember what department they are in or what number I would call. Can you help?

 

Answer - The City began making annual inspections of all multifamily apartments in the City about one year ago, basically using US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) standards.

 

The City of Terrell is currently in the process of amending this ordinance to include the rest of the rental community including duplexes and single family residential rental housing and to incorporate the nationally recognized “Crime-Free Rental Program”. The new amended ordinance is scheduled to be adopted in March, 2010.
