Q. - When you call 911 for assistance, the fire department arrives before the ambulance. It looks like the firemen do all the checking.

 

So, why do we need an ambulance with paramedics ? Also, how can I contact the paramedics at the fire department ? Thanks.

Answer - The East Texas EMS ambulances and personnel have more medical capabilities than the Terrell Fire Department.The Fire Department does not have the capability to transport a patient.

 

The ambulances are virtually rolling emergency rooms, considering the trained personnel and all of the technology and equipment they have on board. Only two of our fire fighters are paramedics; the rest are certified as Emergency Medical Technicians.
